Australian Female PM Leads Polls
Posted on 25 July 2010

It seems that the current ruling Labor party and the Australian Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, are set to win the upcoming election polls as female voters rally in support behind her. At the first week of campaigning, a surging female vote indicated increased support for Julia Gillard's Labor party at 58 percent.
On the other hand, the more conservative Liberal National coalition were trailing behind at 42 percent preference by women voters. The female vote has been boosted by two percentage points in the first week of the election race, and this seemed to help the Labor party who hold a lead of 54 percent to 46 percent against the Liberal National conservatives. As Australia's first female PM, Julia Gillard has maintained a strong approval rating of 56 percent.
